It's been a while since we've had time to blog. Every spare moment has been spent working toward getting our projects done. Now that the nursery is complete, I plan on getting a lot of rest. I have heard repeatedly that I can never get too much in my last month.
We had another shower at my office last Friday. They all pitched in and bought us the car seat and stroller that we had registered for. This was such a great gift! After putting together the stroller and looking at it all, I couldn't believe that our little girl will be laying in that car seat in a little over a month! It was overwhelming to think about.
I had another ob appointment today. She is still measuring about a week ahead of my due date. The doctor felt of my stomach and told me that she thinks she's just going to be a big baby and that my belly was "all baby." Pains and aches have started to set in, but I was reassured that it's all perfectly normal at this point. It is just Siena moving down into labor position.
Otherwise, we are doing great and just anticipating the arrival of our little one.
Welcome to Our Blog!!
We wanted to find a way to share this wonderful time in our lives with all our family and friends. What better way than the Internet? So, we hope that you will visit often and experience the many laughs and tears that are to come as we journey into parenthood.

Welcome to the Nursery!
The big news from the weekend is we finished the nursery! I snapped a few pictures to give you an idea of how it looks. As you guys know, I'm a big scrapbooker; so I have all the pictures to tell the story of how it came to be.
It's been a long journey... Including long, tiring hours for Tommy of painting, putting up crown molding and other projects..

After he finished Saturday night, we put together the crib and I got to decorating! We were all exhausted, but WE WERE FINISHED!

So, now here's your picture tour of the nursery...

The crib area isn't quite finished, yet. Stefan and Jen got us a wall cling to put over it. We will post pictures once we get that put up.

Instead of getting a changing table, we opted to just use a dresser and make it into a changing table. I am really pleased with the way it's turned out. Once we get a contoured changing pad to put between the baskets it will be complete it.

Here are just a few more misc pics I took around the room. The dress hanging up was bought by my mom and is the outfit we plan to bring her home in. (By the way, this is probably the only picture where you can actually see how great Tommy's sponging looks. It didn't show up too good in the other pictures.) Siena also has a book collection started in a basket next to the glider. We plan to read many stories to her there.

These pictures give it no justice. I hope you get to come by and see it in person. Tommy did such a great job fixing it up for our little girl. I now feel completely ready for her to be here.

Baby & Belly Update..

Wow, can you believe we've got only 7 weeks left? Everything is still going great. At my last appointment, I was measuring about a week and a half further along than I really am. The doctor really didn't say anything else about it. So, I'm not sure if she's just a big baby or if my due date is off. My mom seems to think she's just a big baby and is growing ahead of schedule. This will be great in her book, because that's just a greater chance of me having the "fat baby" that she wants! LOL We will have another ultrasound in 3 weeks to check on her weight and see how things are progressing, though.
We did do some belly shots today. I haven't taken any since week 23; so my belly has grown a lot in 10 weeks! Tommy did a great job! Here are a couple of my favorites:

Mother's Day..
Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there!! I hope everyone had a good one. I, on the other hand, did not expect to get so recognized as a mom today. I mean, it's so great to hear, but I just feel so unworthy for this title right now. I guess I keep thinking I have to have changed a few dirty diapers or kissed some boo-boo's to be called a mom. You know, put in the "time" with my child. There are just so many responsibilities that come with being that name. I can't wait to take on the challenges that come along with it in the next few months. I know that I will have definitely put in my "time" by next Mother's Day! Ha ha..
Here are a few pictures of some gifts I received. Tommy gave me the tulips and Willow Tree statue, while Marcia sent me the beautiful basket of flowers.

We Have Been Showered!

It has been a while since I have posted. Things have been so crazy! On April 25th, my mom and best friend Tracey threw us a baby shower. It was fun getting to spend time with my family and talk about Siena. Here is a picture of me and my mom along with Tracey.
.
We ended up receiving lots of great gifts to get our baby girl off on the right foot. Thank you again to all of my loved ones that took a part in sharing this special day with us! Here is my cousins, Kassi and Lily. Also, Tommy's mom Marcia.

As you can tell, the baby bump is growing and getting out of control! I guess that's a good thing, because it just means she's growing. She is starting the "fun" stuff now, like poking my bladder. I've felt her do it at least 10 times today. The fun begins! She isn't moving as much as she used to, but when she does, I sure can feel it. As for the nursery, we are getting closer and closer to moving in the furniture and starting to decorate. It just seems like everything turns bad once we start setting a good pace and getting things accomplished. Tommy says I'll be decorating this week, though. Of course, I will post lots of pictures once we get to that point. :)
In other news, we recently found out that our air conditioner unit has died. One night was almost miserable for me, but we have been lucky that the rest have been comfortable with the windows open. We are getting quotes now and trying to get that fixed.
