The First Nursery Project!

While, we have been getting some things purchased, we have yet to actually start on the nursery. Tommy has had the project of moving some stuff out of her room before we can start decorating. The room is almost empty and my spirits are rising! We already have the bedding and some decorations in mind for her room. We are going with pink and brown as the accent colors. This weekend, I started working on some wooden letters that I will hang over her crib. I found some adorable pink and brown polka dotted fabric to drape over them. It took a lot of staples, but I finished my task! Here's a picture of the almost finished project!

Getting Fat for a Cause!

Yeah, I have to admit, it's taken some time getting used to my new "waistline." I was so used to being fit and active with Tommy that I was ready to start actually looking pregnant. I was afraid people would wonder what happened and how I had "let myself go." Now, I'm totally embracing my new belly and I love watching it grow. Of course, I know I may wish it would slow down once I can't see my toes. (as Tommy and my friends constantly remind me!) But for now I know it's for a great purpose and I'll never regret this weight gain. It just tells me that our baby girl is growing and healthy. Also, that Tommy feeds me well!

Siena's "Big Ultrasound"

On February 5th, we went to the doctor and had an ultrasound. We got to check on Siena and watch her for a full 30 minutes. She weighed 11 ounces and was about 6 1/2 inches long. The ultrasound tech said her feet were already an inch long! I think she's going to have my big feet. Ha ha.. The best news was when they measured and checked all of her vital organs. Everything was developing perfectly, and she looked great! As we were watching her, it amazed me how she already had the mannerisms of a baby. She loves to kick and reach with her hands. At one point, she was trying to play with her feet and suck her thumb. We got some great pictures. We were hoping to get some 4D shots of her since her facial features have developed since last time, but she was still so tiny, the tech couldn't get a good shot. So, maybe next time. We were just glad she received a clean bill of health.

Will It Ever Set In??

Okay, so we are starting this blog a little later than anticipated. I'm now over 20 weeks pregnant and passed the halfway mark. At this point, we have learned that we are going to be having a little girl at the end of June, who we will so lovingly call Siena Grace. We have bought the pink bed sheets and other decorations. The grandmothers have went crazy shopping for dresses and bows, but I just want to know when it's actually going to set in that we are going to be PARENTS! It's such a huge step that I've always imagined, but I can't believe we are actually about to live that dream. Still, at the ultrasounds, I look at the screen at this beautiful life and wonder where in the world it is because surely it can't be our baby in my stomach! Sure, I feel her fluttering around and see my stomach getting bigger and bigger, but I still can't grasp that we will be responsible for a helpless child's life in just a few short months. There are more emotions going through me than I can type right now. In the end, I know that this is going to be a wonderful experience that Tommy and I will grow and learn in together. God truly has blessed us beyond what we deserve.
